13U Coaches

Callie Baker is originally from small town Texas, but grew up right here in the Tucson area. Her and her husband, Ron, have three children, Otto, RJ and Sammi. RJ plays football for the Thunder and Sammi is one of our cheerleaders. Callie has worked in early childhood education for more than 20 year, the last 10 being in Preschool administration. 2024 is Callie's first year on the Thunder executive board ans she is excited to get started. 

I have 7 years of all-star cheer experience where I got to compete in various competitions around the country. I then went on to do two seasons of sideline cheer in  High School both in Washington and Arizona. I absolutely love cheerleading but traded in my cheer shoes for army boots where I served for 3 years. I am wife, a mom of a one year old and currently expecting our second baby boy. Very excited for this football/cheer season with Thunder!

Brittany Brown is a Midwest girl who has lived in Tucson for 26 years and come to love the desert. She has enjoyed living in the Marana area for the last few years with her husband Matt, a Tucson native and therapist, and their three children, Camden, Ellery, a Marana Thunder cheerleader, and Nolan. She has worked at Casas Church for 15 years, holding a variety of admin and leadership roles and developed a huge love for teamwork and people. Britt cheered for 3 years at CDO High School, where she was a captain her junior year, made USA All-Starts her senior year and got to head to Nationals with her team twice! This will be her second year coaching for the mighty Thunder, and she is looking forward to another season with the best coaches, parents, and cheerleaders! 

Hello Marana Thunder Family!  My name is Cathy Morency & I am Aven & Allyn's mom! I can't believe another season is upon us, & I am looking forward to meeting each of you!

A little about me:

I was born in Memphis & grew up outside of LIttle Rock, Arkansas. In my school-age years, I participated in our town's sideline Sertoma Cheer squad & cheered in Jr. High & High School.  I attended college at Arkansas State University where I obtained my degree in Marketing Management. During that time, I became a member of the AOTT fraternity & a resident assistant for my dorm.  This is where I developed a passion for helping others.  

The day after college, I moved to Chicago, IL.  During this time, I met my husband Chris, got married, & eventually had the two joys of my life - my daughters.  In 2020, Caterpillar decided to move us from the Windy City to the sizzling desert of Tucson & the rest is history!  

I love Marana & am so happy to be a part of the community.  Whether giving back through my Cathy Morency Coldwell Banker Realty business, being a foster parent, volunteering, or substitute teaching at Gladden Farms Elementary School, I strive to make a positive impact in others' lives.  I am excited to continue this endeavor through bringing the joys of camaraderie, teamwork & healthy competition to our Thunder Cheer team!

 Jaden Avenenti was born and raised in Tucson Arizona, being an active member of the Marana community for many years through student council, cheerleading, and dance. She graduated from Marana High School and is currently a Pre-Nursing student at Pima Community College and works as a patient care tech. This is her first year coaching with the Thunder family. She has 15 years of cheerleading and dance experience. Starting as a youth cheerleader herself and moving to competitive and highschool cheer, as well as a year on the #2 nationally ranked Marana dance team. She is extremely excited to share her love and passion for the sport with the Thunder family.
